Our View: The poverty is bleak, but we still can find a way out

No matter how deep the poverty and despair, there are ways up and out. We can’t let ourselves forget that.

But it’s easy to forget as we follow the stories in the “Poverty’s Price” series this week. Seeing Fayetteville’s poor and decaying neighborhoods, our sometimes overwhelming crime problems and the bleak “cradle-to-prison pipeline” that traps too many of our children, it’s hard to see a path toward something better.
