2×4 Weekend
Feb 24 all-day
2×4 Weekend is a simple way for faith communities, and area partners and individuals, to raise funds to support Habitat’s mission and connect with what we do.
Habitat will supply you with 8 ft. 2X4 boards for your 2×4 Weekend. People are then invited to make a donation to Habitat for the opportunity to write a message of inspiration, a scripture verse, or blessing upon the board that will be used in the actual construction of a Habitat home.
Suggested donations: $35 or more for a whole board or $5 per foot (some boards can be segmented with pencil marks to sell space by the foot)
Have permanent markers on hand for inspirational messages and prayers for future partner families!
Please call the Habitat office, (910) 483-0952, to arrange a 2×4 Weekend, with our VP of Faith & Community Relations, Chatham McTindal.
Thank you for partnering with Habitat as together we build homes, community, and hope!

Women Build-Take Action, Save the Date @ TBD
May 8 @ 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

Habitat for Humanity’s National Women Build is an annual event created by Habitat’s Women Build program in partnership with Lowe’s Home Improvement. The program invites women to devote at least one day to help families build strength, stability and independence through housing. The event is meant to spotlight the homeownership challenges faced by women.

National Women Build Week is held the week leading up to Mother’s Day with Lowe’s generously donating nearly $2 million dollars and volunteer support. Hosting the event during this week reinforces the message that every woman can make a difference through learning and using construction skills. More than 98,000 women from all 50 states have volunteered at the nine previous National Women Build Week events.

In addition to the financial and volunteer support, local Habitat organizations and Lowe’s offer how-to clinics to help prepare volunteers for the build site.

Women Build participants receive a Women Build t-shirt, construction how-tos, a chance to make new friends, and a chance to leave a community legacy.

Stay posted for more information on site details and clinics.  See more of what Women Build is all about.
